The world is seriously going to lose forever one of the wonderful creatures on earth called ‘Tiger’. Tigers are on the verge of extinction. There are only between 1400 to 1500 tigers left in India and the number keeps lessening every year. The tiger population is declining so fast that the whole population may be extinct in India within 10 years. The reason for this extinction is nothing but large scale poaching, deforestation and human expansion. Poachers illegally hunt and kill the tigers for their fur, bones and other parts as these bring them huge money on the black market.

Any kind of animals is the essential part of bio-diversity and have equal rights like humans to continue living. As a human being we have succeeded and achieved a lot with the growth of society but in the process we invariably lost importance of other creatures in the earth. We exterminate tigers for the sake of some money without valuing their significance. Everyone should value each life even for an animal. Significantly tigers are very good climbers and swimmers. And this adaptability saves them from natural disasters and floods. But when it comes to struggle against their main adversary ‘the human’ they fall flat.

The only way through which we can prevent the extinction of this beautiful animal is to create awareness among the masses and make tough laws against its poaching and sale of its parts in overseas. Whenever poachers and dealers are nabbed for killing tigers in India, they are usually released on bail and re-offend. Proper preservation of tiger reserves has to be implemented with stringent punishment against those who harm these animals. I invite your suggestions on this issue.
