I am happy that I have become shield of my leader to face all the accusations. And this is how it should be. The Firozabad defeat was a sour one for the SP and I have no qualms in admitting the same; nor does Mulayam Singhji. But is this reason for chaos to reign in our party? Is this so much unheard in the history of this democracy where a powerful, pro-voter party (or candidate) has lost?
It happened to Indira Gandhi in 1975, then MP from Rae Bareli, following almost four years of legal proceedings ending in the declaration of a state of emergency and prison cells being occupied. Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee lost Gwaliar and even we rested Mayawati’s stronghold Akbarpur. But were they finished…no they all came back even more strongly. Here I am not trying to give any excuse for our losses in our stronghold areas but we are prepared to understand reasons for this debacle and work on them. But at the same time I would worn all those who are writing us off; some people had same opinion on more than one occasion about us in the past but we always came back strongly and proved them wrong.
Comparatively, I would believe our acceptance has been with dignity and humility. Some of my fellow Samajwadies have been emotional and impulsive in their attempts to fully understand this setback. Comments, blames and accusations have been exaggerated and publicized. But, at it’s core, the SP is still one. Mulayamji is here and I am here. Important assets of the SP are still standing. There is no question of our future agenda…we must rise.
I will not hold any grudges against the many emotional outbursts my family members of the SP have made against me. My regards to Mayawati to have accomplished a win; but I do not feel the need to gift credit. It was a bye-election and the ruling party does have a clear advantage. Even we used to win all bye elections when we were in power but we lost 2007 assembly elections. The SP is yearning to come back, and as I believe, in a personal capacity, we already are.
However, post Firozabad events have once again made me realize that politics is not a bed of roses. In bloody politics one is never settled, it’s a continuous struggle, one has to prove time and again. Some time you have to fight outsider and some time you have to deal with own family members. I have no grudges against those who are uncomfortable with my presence and I will ensure that Samjwadi party stand united under the leadership of Netaji.

Dear Amar da
I have been closely following the Ferozabad elections from South Africa.
I must admit that it is not the over confidence of the Samajwadi leaders but the gradual corrosion of the confidence among the people for Samajwadi Party.
You will have to do a little research to understand that.
The same thing happened in Gwalior and Yahodhararaje’s victory was mainly due to weak Congress political agenda in that province.
I assure you that Samajwadi party would spring back if only the party works a bit harder to win back the lost confidence.
People are also not happy in voting and bringing family members to power repeatedly.
I hope I have not hurt your sentiments.

Amitabh

Sir,
Its great to see that now the political leaders of our country are actually updating themselves with the current trends and becoming open to public.
I would like to suggest that you should get all the people of your party to start blogging and post their activities on Twitter so as we the people know about them better. I think Mr. Advani had gained a lot of popularity among youth with these methods like website, blogs etc but that didnt last long as the motives weren’t to connect with people but to get only votes and publicity.
I think you can serve a role model among the politicians by becoming more approachable to public.
I have some questions, if you feel free please answer me.
1) Why did u set aside business to join politics? 2) What & How has your contribution helped the country?
3) What is your vision about India in near future say India 2020
Happy Holidays & a prosperous new year

Hi Mr Amar Singh,
This is Omer Hyderabadi,We muslims have always been a great admirer of Samajwadi Party and Mr Mulayam Singh,But your party has let us down by taking Kalyan singh in your fold. This was your grave mistake which will strengthen congress in UP.Due to leader like Narsimha Rao ,Congres Party was finished in UP.But your mistake has given them new lease of life for coming up in UP.I know you are the Kingmaker of Indian Politics but do not take such communal elements in your party. Also i request you to take Azam Khan back in the party in the greater interest of SamajWadi Party and Uttar Pradesh.
Thanks You

Dear AmarSinghji,
Glad to find your blog.Regularly I read Amitji,s
blog.Today I found yours. After kidney transplant you have taken so much strain for the election. I admire your courage & stamina. It is natural in politics to see WIN & DEFEAT.In Orissa,Mr Biju Patnaik(father of Mr Nabin Patnaik)lost at 6 places in one election, including Choudwar where he had his industries. We were happy in the rise of Samajwadi Party, because it was a tragedy under Ms Mayabati.
With all the good wishes for you & your family,
Dr Kalyanee
JAI HIND all,
dr parag sheth is right. All they always use minorities only for vote bank not for there welfare so now congress(n they a going to support it)is going to give 10% special resevation which is actually the acceptance of that ,they had not done a little bit for minorities.
Jai HInd
dear amar da,
i am very surprised that u choose kalyaan singh u know very well about that charter or polosy i make be very clear that after some time kalyaan sing again enter in BJP. and do something about mayawati because she dangreus for UP>
thanks
Mr Amar Singh,
I must thank you to start blogging. I wish most of the politicians / bureaucrats start blogging and be open to some segment of general public.
However, after reading comments I feel like, these comments have to pass a big filter. I am sure out of 100 educated people who comment on this blog, 95 will be highly critical of you and your party. Your party has ruled for so many years in UP and I don’t see any big achievement. In fact, condition of this state has become more abysmal considering when other states except very few are developing so much. You might be a good person but your party is really not doing anything good for the state.
Also, I must admit that even other parties are not good and of course, I should not blame only politicians but general people in UP are equally blamed but I feel this is the responsibility of the politicians to educate this “blamed” Junta so that they think beyond caste based politics. If you want a good state, someone has to sacrifice.
I am from kanpur. I tell you a story. Please read it. I guess one year back I was standing just near main entrance for platform no 1 of Kanpur railway station. I saw a car comes in which has no red light and has no signs/flags of a political party on the car. To take your car just in front of entrance, one has to get opened a kind of barrier from the security guy. The driver comes out of the car and ask security man (a thin guy) to open it but this security guy deny it and the car goes back. After few minutes a old tata sumo comes at the same position, which has got a lot of signs/posters/flags of your party. The driver of this sumo(I am sure there was no one inside this sumo) comes out and start opening the barrier without even asking anything to security guy and he looked like that he just does not care abt any rules etc and when securtiy guy asks him not to do this then he just completely humiliate this security personal guy. I know as per the SUMO driver appearance, he was not a politican, he was not a VIP but he had these flags/signs on his car. I have not seen such things in South India. But these things are so common all over UP, if you are a politician or even just somehow you have association with these politicians, you think that there are no rules, no ethics nothing. When will this stop? There is a lot I can write and I also know you people understand everything but still deliberately not doing anything good for the state. You just somehow want to be in power.
Please, please you all politician be accountable for what responsibility you take when you win a election. Just by making all the family members MPs/MLAs wont reduce suffering of common people. Think beyond this.
I have very less chance if this comment will pass your filter. But if at least you just read it I will be fine.
Jai Hind.

Dear Amarji,
SP can win and be the party of UPites for a long time if you win their hearts by getting clean water, Jobs, electricity and Literacy. These are possible by first enforcing a non-corrupt governance (highly impossible by under your leadership – nothing is impossible), second by getting electricity with the help of Geo-Thermal, Solar and Bio-gas to every village. Thirdly taking education to the masses by satellite and making it compulsory.
You can do it! Please make sure that U.P. is actually at par with the rest if not better for U.P mein hai dum kyuki yahan sawal hai n kum.
Best regards.
Arun

Well I have few questinons to be answered by Mr. Amar Singh ji.
1 Why di you choose to put “Tahkur” worrd before your name in the website.
2 Why are you with SP when Thakurs have np place in SP.
3 Do you know important peole of the community like Raja Anand Singh ji etc. of Manakapur Royalty have been badly treated in the SP and were forced to go out of the SP.
4 Don’t you think that MS had stage managed SP as a family concern. To the extent that whole Yadav family has got into politics and enjoyed the fruits. Now it is limit that they decided to field Bahu of Akihlesh from Ferozabad and got the treat from the public.
5 If you have any respect for thethakur community I think it is hard time for you to decide your continuence with SP.
6 Whrer are crdentials from SP that it is the party of Socialists belonging to Lohiya thinking. Of late it has become pary of money swindlers like Mayawati.
7 I am from the heartland of the place from where Mr. MS got his graduate degree, but the Ahirs of that area also have gone against him. Today they all might be feeling little cheated by the confidence that they reposed in their leader MS, who falied them and their confidence.
8 MS can not take pride in calling himself the leaders of Ahirs(Yadavs) isnce it is in his times lawlessness increases like any thing and the memers of other communitiesbecome target of ransom and loot that goes on openly in the villages.
9 It is my view that you as a imoprtant person of the community either take a serious view or decide to come out of SP and create your own party which should work for betterment of the community. After all it is not a low achivement that even today we have moe tahn 70 odd parliamentarians despite the poulation is less than 4% of 120 billion people of India. Some one is required to lead the destiny of the community and you could be the one….
I have read your comments and my response to each of your question is as following.
1. I am not ashamed of being a Thakur moreover amarsingh.com domain name was not available.
2. It is wrong to say that Thakurs have no place in SP; I have grown as a politician in this party only.
3. Raja Anand Singh of Mankapur was well respected in SP and even I personally visited his house. His son Kirtivardhan was given SP nomination for Lok Sabha election but at last moment he got scared of opposition from local politicians particularly Pandit Singh. Instead of giving a good fight like a true Rajput he decided to run away.
4. Representation of family members has become a usual affair in Indian politics across all political parties. Gopinath Munde’s daughter, Late Pramod Mahajan’s daughter, Chhagan Bhujbal’s son, President Pratibha Patil’s son, and Vilasrao Deshmukh’s son, all were given tickets in recent assembly elections in Maharshtra, then why to single out only my leader Mulayam Singhji…what is good for Peter should be good for Paul too.
5. Had there been a composite unity amongst Rajputs, Britishers and Mugals would not have ruled India. Rajputs should get united under one umbrella to realize their share in political power; a political outfit only for Rajput community may not be a feasible idea.
6. Even China and Russia have moved on after Marx, Lenin, and Mao. Pragmatism of market economy has started looming large on them. Same thing is happening with essentially socially moorings in our party. They are getting blended with modernity. It can not be attributed that we are diverting from the path of socialism.
7. Victory and defeat are 2 opposite sides of same coin. Success should not make one euphoric and failure should also not make one get into one’s shell. Hold on please, Yadavs will by and large remain intact with Netaji, they will not go anywhere.
8. Please don’t compare Mulayam Singh Ji’s regime with that of Mayawati on account of law & order, the recent case of suicide by a Sr. IAS officer should be an eye opener for you.
9. I would rather make an endeavor to bring about desired changes in my party than to leave it at this juncture of crisis, rest in the hands of the God.
I quote your words Amar Singh Ji , “Raja Anand Singh of Mankapur was well respected in SP and even I personally visited his house. His son Kirtivardhan was given SP nomination for Lok Sabha election but at last moment he got scared of opposition from local politicians particularly Pandit Singh. Instead of giving a good fight like a true Rajput he decided to run away.”
Can I question you a few things , I am a very small person to question you , but yes , as your blog makes you democratic , i have full right to question you .
As far as Mankapur Family and Daryabad Family are considerd , we have been very close and intimate . Can I ask you that if Kirti Dada is a coward , then why has it been that , you took Sanyas from Samajwadi Party , because of you so called “ill-health” , could’nt you like a true thakur battle for your rights . And as far as your politics is considerd , I had always been your admirer as you were always specific and truthful towards you ideals , but could you please elaborate and emphasize whether why had you opted for this caste based politics ,making your blog from democratic ( as mentioned ) to biased and undemocratic . I can see bright future of politicians like you but certainly not in a manned that you defend the truth . Gonda has seen Raja Anand Singh as a bright shining star and I feel aloofed and estranged by your opinion . At once you show your secular side , at second your caste domination and at third your inter-caste divide criticize and rule …. Please stick to one as we all should take a step forward to change this odd caste based trend of Politics ….
Dear Amar Singh Ji ,
Rahul is trying his best to gain grounds in UP …. WHY IS SP STILL SUPPORTING THE UPA GOVT AT THE CENTER???
Dear Mr. Amar Singh Ji,
Well I respect you what you have said in response to my points. Well I am happy to see that you do not find youself to be the true leader of Rajput community nor you have any plans to do any thing in future.
As regards corruption in your party and the money swindelled through wrong means whether it is in your party or in BSP or for that reason any other poltical party what you have to say? General perception is that through corrupt practices only the whole yadav family has become so rich in recent past. Generally, now politics and politicians by and large are being seen as part of this dirty game.
You say that Yadavs will remain with SP as true followers of MS, but I doubt this. Hoever, times only would tell that this caste combinations are virtaully crippling the very system of parliamentry democarcy. You have seen the impact of muslim voters in Ferozabad constituency where they have gone against SP. Muslims no longer consider SP as their own party.I wish if people/leaders would have talked about pocies and issues rather than caste combinations.
Any way, I wish you all well in your efforts to bring demcratic reforms in your party, if you continue to be part of the SP for long. I feel you will be forced out sooner.
Res Takur G Namastey,
in ferozabad the main cause of defeat are i think “DHOKA” MY Points are
1-Sapa give a birth to mr babar and he will gve dhoka to sapa
2-He Says JUHI AND DIMPLE DI are my daughter and revile are only politices if revile are plotices in future he can take any hard desicion in the favur of juhi.
3-he r elected mp in agra but he ales suport congress
4- i thnk congress use him oppose of shri akhilesh bhyyia
5-noe he entreputed dadri projest today he is in dadri
6-dadri are a big power plant 6880 mw give power to 5 state(rajastan, delhi,up,haryana and punjab)but if the plant r install the cradit r gone in nataji favour.
7-this is only politicele thng no body want the india development
8-u.p have a no natural sources of its alves depend upon power so it is chting .poor farmer what can do.
9-if the power plant are enstall it can help to development rural u.p
regards and thanks
takur deepakkathait
Dear Deepak,
I agree that over all developement of UP is more imoprtant then any thing else. But the question is has really U.P. progressed? See the developement in Karnataka, A.P., Tamilnadu, Kerala, Maharashtra. I think we lag behind in every sphere. It is these politicians used U.P.for their benifits rather than that of the people, which elected them and sent to rule and govern. Today, corruption is a big issue but for these ploiticians it is no matter. Whether it is MS or Maya they are fighting for their personal cause not the cause of society. That is where it hurts me more. One goes out another person comes in as CM. These guys are busy in settling their personal scores and not really bothering for the welfare of people. Today you know all good projects at Noida and Greater Noida have price tag as cost of the project to be paid under the carpet to get the favour of administrators. Retired guys continue in poistion of power as they are chummy to some one. This trend has started by Haryana where it looks like that whole of the Haryana has been sold by Chautalas. Like wise Badals have done it in Punjab. This story will go on like this… These people spend hell of money on their elections after all from whose coffers this comes from.. It is poor man pocket which support these guys. The anger against these politicians surfaced after Mumbai attack on 26/11 but soon it died as we have short memories.. We Indians are known to be generous and forgetful.
These guys get elected and go behind AC rooms and corriodor of power but they have no time to come and face the problems encountered by the masses. Look the leadrers we had in Rajen Babu, Jawahar Lal ji, Shashtri ji etc. those were the leaders of masses and never felt abackward amongst their people with out any security cover. Today, you elect a MLA and next very day he comes under security umbrella. Security against whom if you are not involved with criminals, bad people and have not done any thing wrong. Is it not that a simple persom moves around with out security cover. Then why these guys security is needed?
Well there are many questions which need to be answered but I am afriad you wil have no answer…
Times have come when people will rise and oppose such elements and only those will remain who really devote themslves in the service of masses. The need of the hour is selflessness and devotion to the cause of the society. Truely speaking we have to learn to be a Ghandhian….
RES SP SING,
IM REALY GLAD AND HAPPY YOU WILL READ MY COLOUM AND POST UR COMMENT.THERE ARE SOME POINTS ON MY SIDE.
1-IN MAHRASTRA YOU KNOW THERE ARE JATIVADI POLTICES ON THE BOARD.ARE YOU HAPPY WHEN THE PEOPLE FROM DELHI,U.P AND BIHAR GOES THERE AND THEY CANNOT GIVE A SAME RESPECT.
2-IN UP THERE LOT OF POWER PROJECT AND ROAD WORK DONE IN S.P TIME LIKE ROJA,PRICHAY,RURLA UP,AND LOT OF BUT NOE RULING PRTY TKE ALL BENIFTS
3-THE DADRI IS BIG PROJECT IF IT INSTLL INDIS WILL REALLY GROW.
4-LOT OF ROAD PROJECT IN S.P TIME NOW THESE PROJECT R INDUMP BOX..
5-AD YOU ARE TAKING ABOUT LALBADHUR,JAVHAR G BUT U SC SHMT INDRA ITHNK PEOPLE LOVE THOSE PEROSN BUT IN THESE TIME MAKKE CAUSE R “JATI VAAD” IF V HENDLE THIS SITUTAION V CAN WIN ALL BETTELS.
THANKS AND REGARDS
TAKUR DEEPAK KATHAIT
Do you have any idea of the size of population of UP to which these politicians owe alegiance and the work have done so far. Every one has his/her personal agenda of becoming rich and it has been proved right so far. The riches of yester years have become pauper and these politicains have minted money to become over night rich. All this they are doing at the cost of the poor people.
If this was not true why IT is after them? Why they feel shy on talking on these references…..
Dear Amar Ji
If I am to believe your blogs, you come across as an ethical politician. However, I have some concerns and will like your comments on the same!
1. One way street principle: Have you never accepted any ‘Bachon ki Mitthai’ or bribe in your life? If not, how come do you own hundreds of real estate properties??
2. If you like ethical politics, why are you stuck with the most unethical politician like Mulayam Singh Yadav?
3. Why do you propagate Minorityism and casteism? Why are muslims so special even when they commit ku karmas like terrorism and anti nationalism???
Please respond if you are really ethical!
Rohit
Dear Rohit, as far as wealth is concerned I have made most of my wealth through legitimate means much before I joined active politics, I worked hard for it. Mulayam Singhji is a real grassroots politician, who has yet not been accepted by the elite class of Indian politics. If wearing Dhoti/Kurta and speaking in local dialect makes some one unethical, I have nothing to say. Samajwadi Party operates on secular principles; all it has been opposing is discrimination on the basis of religion. I have said earlier also that going by Sachchar Commission and Rangnath Mishra Commissin reports, today Muslim in India is worse that Dalits, therefore, demand for special treatment for them is not unjustified. Moreover, you can not punish the entire community for crimes committed by few disoriented individual. Hope you have got your answer.
The party like a home consists of the people based on certain ideology (not a must it could change with changing times! like renovation of a house, keeping the same basic structure)
Today the REdfort & many prominent buildings, havelis are there but without the people it is just a landmark.
I am sure a person like you who has got a strong conviction can make a new begining, may be after it becomes a roaring success, you may think why I did not do it earlier.
A thought can make Einstien, thought can make a Hitler, thought can make a Lincoln, it depends how you contemplate, plant & execute.
All the best.
